Hello! Thanks for stopping by. If you clicked on this, that may mean you have even the slightest interest in learning who I am and where I’m coming from, an important aspect to consider when engaging with my posts.
My name is Taylor Jeanne and I love asking questions that produce a quizzical twist of a smile and a response of “Well, I haven’t thought of that before…” I’m reminiscent of that kid who’s always asking “But, why?” every time you give them an answer to their previous demand of “But, why?” (I think I’m slightly less annoying about it, but that remains to be seen).
Realms of thought such as philosophy, anthropology, ethics, and morality pique my interest, particularly because there are no right or wrong answers. My goal is to present alternative modes of thought for topics that traditionally have a singular answer that society has deemed “accepted” to enhance critical thinking skills. I would be remiss if I didn’t say that my closest and dearest group of friends inspired me to pursue writing about such topics because of their own love of asking good questions.
My educational background is in English and public health, and I currently work in the health policy field. I am incredibly passionate about health equity, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (commonly known as “JEDI” in our field; it should also be no surprise that I’m a mega Star Wars fan), and human rights. While I encourage open dialogue, I do not tolerate discrimination or hatred in any form, whether it be blatant, microaggressions, or things of the like.
I hope this blog can serve as a space for fruitful conversation on intriguing, taboo, and mystifying topics. Please engage thoughtfully and respectfully; we’re all here to learn something. Thank you for joining me on this journey!
